ProfileThe Koncherry group was established in 1929 by P.K.Velu in Cherthala town of Alleppey district - the hub center for the world trade in coir and coir products. In 1947, his son C.V.Susheelan inherited the business from his father and started exports of value added products from coir to Western Europe and U.S.A. In 1975, his son K.S.Shaji, joined the business and took over the stewardship of the group. In 20 years time, K.S.Shaji increased the customer list worldwide and changed the outlook of the group from a mere coir door mat and rugs exporter to that of an eco fabrics exporter. This has taken the group to the position of one of the largest exporter in this segment. K.S.Shaji has now corporatized the business by incorporating KONCHERRY WEAVERS (P) LTD. At KONCHERRY only quality speaks.
